In this interactive workshop, they will cover social media policies for newspapers and websites, how to manage copyright risks, how to apply the FTC endorsement guidelines, how to identify special issues when using Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter, and how to safely operate an online sweepstakes.

Legal Cram Course: Avoiding Libel, Invasion of Privacy, and Copyright Infringement in a Digital World: What Every Reporter and Editor Needs to Know –  Robert A. Bertsche and Asya Calixto will lead a comprehensive and lively overview of the major legal issues facing reporters and editors preparing copy for newspapers and their websites.
