Massachusetts to Launch Block 5 of the Commonwealth Solar II Rebate Program

On Friday, January 14, 2011, the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC) will begin accepting applications for Block 5 of the Commonwealth Solar II Rebate Program (Comm Solar II) consisting of $1 million. MassCEC will continue accepting applications until the earlier of the date upon which all Block 5  funds are exhausted or March 31, 2011. 

Comm Solar II helps finance the installation of solar photovoltaic systems for all residential projects and for commercial projects up to 10kW in capacity.  Specifically, the program will continue to provide a rebate for the first 5 kW of commercial projects (with the nameplate capacity capped at 10 kW), and the first 5 kW of residential projects (with no size cap). The maximum available rebate will be $1.70 per watt or $8,500 per project.  The Comm Solar II rebate levels are as follows:
