At a June 3 reception, The Jonathan M. Tisch College of Citizenship and Public Service, and the Tufts Lawyers Association (TLA) presented their 2010 Citizen Lawyer of the Year Award to Prince Lobel Partner and Tufts Alumnus Elliot D. Lobel.
According to Tufts University, a Tufts Citizen Lawyer is “an individual who does his/her work supporting the world community through public service, setting a standard for the legal profession’s role in civic engagement and pro bono activities. Elliot, as a member of the Tisch Board of Advocates, has been a driving force behind the Citizen Lawyer Initiative.”
The pilot project for the TLA -Tisch College pro bono program offers support to LIFT Somerville, where lawyers provide Somerville residents with a wide range of legal services, from combating injustices in housing and managing financial crises, to navigating the immigration system and escaping domestic violence.
