The Massachusetts Paid Family and Medical Leave Law is the state’s most recent legislation requiring employers to provide leave benefits to employees. The law was implemented starting in July of 2019, in stages, and will require sweeping changes that employers must address. Massachusetts employees and former employees, and in some cases independent contractors, will be entitled to receive paid medical, family, or a combination of medical and family leave.
This seminar provides an overview of the new law, outlines action items that employers must take, and discusses practical applications of interest to employers.
