Each year, the American Bar Association’s law student division holds a National Appellate Advocacy Competition (NAAC), which, according to the ABA, “emphasizes the development of oral advocacy skills through a realistic appellate advocacy experience.” Competitors participate in a hypothetical appeal to the United States Supreme Court. The competition also involves writing a brief as either respondent or petitioner and then arguing the case in front of the mock court.
Prince Lobel Partner Joe Sano was selected as a judge for the Boston regional finals, which took place at the Edward W. Brooke Courthouse. The four winning teams from each regional competition advanced to the National Finals.
