Rob Barber gave a talk entitled, “Iceland, an Ambassador’s Perspective,” as part of the Falmouth Forum lecture series, sponsored by the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole. Rob was introduced to approximately 200 attendees by Falmouth resident Day Mount, a career diplomat and also former U.S. Ambassador to Iceland. Rob described Iceland and its people, its geopolitical significance and security and other relationships with the United States, and some of Iceland’s innovations in the renewable energy and marine sectors. Rob then spoke about some of his favorite experiences while serving as ambassador, including engaging in beer diplomacy and helping revive baseball in Iceland.
