Robert A. Bertsche on Panel of MCLE Program: Media-Savvy Lawyering

November 3, 2010

Rob Bertsche will join a blue-ribbon panel of lawyers and journalists to discuss all facets of the lawyer-reporter interaction. This program will teach attendees what they need to know to make the best of those interactions – with reporters, bloggers, broadcasters, and social media commenters .

Joining Rob will be New York antitrust lawyer Lloyd Constantine, who was senior legal adviser to New York Gov. Elliot Spitzer, and who previously dealt with positive and negative press after winning a $3 billion settlement (and $220 million legal fee award) in an antitrust class action against Visa and MasterCard.

Also on the panel are Boston-based trial lawyers involved in the Big Dig collapse and the John Salvi abortion clinic killings. They will describe the challenges and opportunities they faced as the result of televised proceedings, bloggers in the courtroom, and press access to discovery.

The former Superior Court justice who presided over the Christopher Reardon church sexual abuse case and allowed motions for a new trial in the Fells Acre day care case will offer advice and observations about dealing with the press in and out of the courthouse
