Each year, hundreds of attorneys participate in one of the largest lobby days at the Massachusetts State House. Their goal is to urge lawmakers to protect state funding for programs that provide civil legal aid to low-income Massachusetts residents.
Prince Lobel along with more than 600 attorneys and law students heard from various speakers, including the Chief Justice of the Supreme Judicial Court and the presidents of the Massachusetts and Boston Bar Associations, about the critical role that civil legal aid plays in ensuring equal access to justice. They then visited their state Senators and Representatives to encourage them to provide $27 million in funding for civil legal aid in the fiscal year 2017 Massachusetts state budget.
