The panel, featuring Prince Lobel Partner Walter Prince, and Pratt Wiley, an attorney with Nutter McLennan & Fish, will offer Boston’s young men of color “an opportunity to learn the ins and outs of the legal profession.” According to founder Percy Hayles, “Young Men’s Success Series (YMSS) started in response to the parade of young men of color in the Boston Public Schools who struggle academically.” Hayles then felt “compelled to create an effort to convince young men that education is still the only launch pad to success.”
Though most YMSS participants are students from Boston Public Schools, the event is open to the public. In June 2011, Walter Prince hosted YMSS participants at the Prince Lobel offices, where he spoke to the students about the importance of education, hard work and determination.
