Hugh Gorman Comments on Construction Law Case in Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly

IN THE PRESS · April 9, 2019

A cover story in the most recent Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly featured a quote by Prince Lobel partner and Construction Law Practice Group chair Hugh Gorman.  The article discusses the dismissal of a contractor’s suit against an architect on the grounds that a plaintiff cannot bring suit as a third-party beneficiary.  Gorman weighed in, noting that although it was a “harsh” decision, “there are often many competing interests and parties working on construction projects, and to infer contractual liability where no such relationship exists would open a Pandora’s Box.” To read more of Gorman’s thoughts, view the full article here (subscription required).  Gorman also wrote a short piece on the issue for High Profile magazine.
