September 6, 2022

Prince Lobel Partner James Landau has been featured in the September/October 2022 edition of 914 Magazine, in an article on the cannabis industry moving into New York state.  “As the county and New York more broadly adopts to legalization, a new strain of lawyers is helping businesses along,” begins the piece.  More than a year after New York State legalized recreational cannabis, the industry is starting to grow.  Jim notes, “People who are participating in the industry are going to need lawyers to help them comply with the law.”

Jim began his work in cannabis in 2018 and has become a thought leader in the field.  He is a member of Prince Lobel’s Cannabis industry group and also is the co-founder of the Cannabis Law Committee of the Westchester County Bar Association.  He is also the director of the Hudson Valley Cannabis Industry Association, co-chair of the regulatory committee of both the Hudson Valley and New York City Cannabis Industry Associations, and is chair of the ethics committee of the New York State Bar Association, Cannabis Law Section.

Jim’s practice focuses on providing day-to-day business counseling to cannabis and other businesses with an eye toward avoiding problems before they arise.  He frequently writes and speaks on such topics as attorney ethics, cannabis banking and licensing of cannabis businesses. Jim is a past president of the White Plains Bar Association and was just elected as vice president of the Westchester County Bar Association.

Prince Lobel opened its office in Purchase, Westchester County, New York this year, with four preeminent cannabis attorneys aboard:  Jim, David Holland, Douglas Trokie, and Andrew Schriever.
