Prince Lobel recently prevailed at trial in Suffolk Superior
Court on behalf of Verizon Online LLC, obtaining a $1.43 million judgment on a
counterclaim against a telecommunications reseller. The reseller had
filed suit against Verizon, claiming breach of contract and violation of
Massachusetts Gen. Laws ch. 93A. Verizon then counterclaimed for breach of
contract. After the court ruled favorably on Verizon’s pretrial motion
to bar the reseller from introducing evidence of its alleged financial damages,
the reseller withdrew its claim and Verizon proceeded in a bench trial on its
counterclaim before the court. The court awarded $1,429,403 to
Verizon. Litigation Practice Group Chair Bill Worth represented Verizon in the case.
