Prince Lobel is pleased to announce the arrival of associate Joy Karugu, who joins the firm’s corporate group. Karugu focuses her practice on financings and mergers and acquisitions including private equity, venture capital and general corporate transactions. She provides counseling to private and public companies and their officers and investors.
Karugu has handled a number of cross-border and US regulatory matters with a particular focus on securities and data protection issues. Her clients operate in a wide spectrum of industries including finance, tourism, retail, hospitality, chemicals, consumer goods, food, manufacturing, and pharmaceuticals.

Karugu is a 2012 graduate of The Yale Law School. While at Yale, she was Editor of the Yale Journal of International Law and a member of Yale Law Women. After law school, she gained extensive regulatory and merger and acquisition experience at a prominent law firm in Tokyo, Japan, before moving to an Am Law 100 national law firm.
