Doug is a problem solver. Whether you are dealing with a complicated commercial litigation matter or are trying to avoid one from being filed, Doug focuses on his clients’ needs. Whether at the pre-litigation stage or in the middle of a trial, Doug can be counted on to understand the fine details and nuances of every case he handles, while also keeping at the forefront the “big picture” and each client’s unique circumstances and goals.

Doug’s experience is broad and deep. He regularly represents individuals, financial institutions, and businesses in complex business disputes in state and federal trials and appellate courts, administrative tribunals, and alternative dispute resolution proceedings across New England.

Doug is experienced and knowledgeable in handling partnership and corporate controversies including breach of fiduciary duty, corporate governance, and securities claims; unfair trade practice, business tort, and antitrust claims; banking and financing; insurance; health care matters; environmental matters; and real property claims. Doug represents clients in other disputes including alleged fraud, contract disputes, business and partnership disagreements, land disputes, and wrongful death claims. Doug is also sought out to handle claims related to products liability, malpractice, consumer protection and construction litigation.

In addition to his litigation work, Doug counsels and represents family-owned and closely-held businesses on a wide range of legal and business issues that arise in the life cycle of these companies. Doug has successfully negotiated numerous licensing and intellectual property agreements, manufacturing and supply agreements, distribution agreements, bank workouts, and shareholder disputes.

Drawing on over 20 years of experience, Doug often serves as outside general counsel for his clients and advises companies and financial institutions on a wide array of complex commercial and business matters, with the goal of minimizing their legal risks.

Prior to joining Prince Lobel, Doug was previously a Partner and Practice Area Leader for Litigation at Bowditch & Dewey LLP.

Doug earned his J.D. from the American University Washington College of Law and received his B.A. from Boston College.
