Reducing the Fear Factor From Use of Social Media: Robert A. Bertsche and Peter J. Caruso II Discuss Their 2012 NENPA Presentation

At the 2012 New England Newspaper and Press Association’s (NENPA) winter convention, Rob Bertsche and Peter Caruso, partners in Prince Lobel’s Media Law Practice Group, will discuss the “legal issues involved as newspapers being using social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, wikis, blogs, and other user-comment engines.”  According to Rob, their mission is to “help educate people enough so that they can loosen up, not be so scared, and know what the real risks are.” Although Rob and Peter want to encourage newspapers to endorse social media, they will also present the “legal dangers intrinsic to the medium.”
