Steve Gans Interviewed in FourFourTwo and Howler Magazines, Podcast

November 9, 2017

Attorney Steve Gans was interviewed multiple times this week regarding his candidacy for president of the United States Soccer Federation (USSF).  The first interview, published November 8 in British soccer magazine FourFourTwo, focused solely Gans and getting to know him as a presidential candidate.  The magazine asked Gans which issues are most important for U.S. soccer, what the men’s and women’s national teams each need in order to succeed, and how he envisions improving youth identification and development, among other questions.  Click here to read the rest.

On November 9, Howler magazine published the responses of Gans and two other USSF presidential hopefuls, Paul Lapointe and Kyle Martino, to a 13-question survey they had sent to all candidates.  The questions were wide-ranging, covering everything from why the U.S. men’s national team failed to qualify for next year’s world cup to what should be done with the USSF’s substantial budget surplus.  Gans, Lapointe, and Martino also appeared in the November 9 episode of Dummy, a soccer podcast by Howler magazine editor George Quraishi which delves into the business, politics, and social issues surrounding the sport.  In the episode, Quarishi explored the three candidates’ survey responses, offering them an opportunity to expand on and defend their answers.  To read the responses and hear the full podcast, click here.
