Practice Areas

Thomas M. Elcock has more than 35 years of litigation experience in federal and state courts representing clients in appellate, commercial, insurance and reinsurance matters. He has an extensive appellate practice, having successfully handled numerous appeals before the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts, the Massachusetts Appeals Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, and the Supreme Court of Rhode Island. Tom’s litigation experience includes class actions, commercial disputes, misuse of trade secrets claims, non-competition cases and complex arbitrations. Tom also represents insureds, insurers, self-insureds, captive insurers and risk retention groups in coverage litigation, declaratory judgment, bad faith and Chapter 93A actions involving property and casualty, accident and health, E&O and D&O policies. Tom also drafts and updates insurance policy language and provides coverage opinions and claims advice.

Tom received his law degree from Suffolk University and his undergraduate degree from Denison University. He has taught Legal Writing at Harvard University. He is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association and the Boston Bar Association.
