Investigative Reporters and Editors, a nonprofit grassroots organization dedicated to protecting and improving the quality of investigative reporting, will hold their Boston Watchdog Workshop this weekend, October 20-21, at the Boston University College of Communications. Media and First Amendment attorney Jeff Pyle will give a talk at this event on Saturday, October 20, discussing “Public Records Tips and Tricks” with Todd Wallack of The Boston Globe. Pyle and Wallack, who appeared together at last year’s Prince Lobel program on the new public records regime, will discuss how to craft and track public records requests and what to do when faced with obstinate and uncooperative government and public officials.
