On Wednesday, August 14, 2019, Prince Lobel’s Employment Law practice addressed members of the Utility Contractors’ Association of New England. Richard Wayne, Dan Tarlow, Joe Edwards, and Laurie Rubin led the session on “Massachusetts Paid Family and Medical Leave Law: Is Your Company Ready?” Effective July, 2019, the new law was modelled on the federal Family and Medical Leave Act. There are, however, several significant differentiations. Topics included an overview of the new Paid Family Medical Leave Law, action items employers must take in 2019, and practical applications employers need to know.
