With sexual assault and harassment charges currently dominating the news cycle, and more individuals coming forward daily to accuse everyone from reputable politicians to beloved comedians, it can be difficult for journalists to know how to report on such sensitive stories. On December 7, Prince Lobel and the New England Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) will co-host a panel on what journalists need to know when covering sexual assault. Panelists will include reporters from The Boston Globe and its famous Spotlight team, noted sexual assault attorney Mitchell Garabedian, and Prince Lobel’s Media and First Amendment Group chair Robert Bertsche. Other co-hosts of the event include the New England First Amendment Coalition, the BU SPJ student chapter, and the New England Newspaper and Press Association. Click here to register.
