The Cannabis Control Commission (the “CCC”) has published proposed regulations for the Adult Use of Marijuana in Massachusetts (the “Regulations”) and has scheduled a series of public hearings to discuss the Regulations in February.
Prior to this release, the CCC held four public hearing sessions on various aspects of the Regulations and on the general policy-making objectives that should guide them. If you were not able to attend those meetings, please use the following links to access the various meeting press releases for additional context and background on the Regulations: December 11, December 12, December 13, and December 14, 2017.
The comment period expires on February 15, 2018. Our Cannabis Team is preparing a comment letter regarding the Regulations and would welcome any input and/or questions from you on the issues that might impact you and your company.
The CCC will be holding numerous public hearings in the first two weeks of February. They intend to promulgate final regulations in time to achieve their goal of accepting licensing applications for the cultivation, production, and retail sale of marijuana for adult use by April 1, 2018.
Representatives from our office will also be in attendance at the public hearings scheduled in Boston on February 8 and Roxbury on February 13.
